With the objective of strengthening knowledge of communicators about human rights, their importance, and their relevance in the exercise of communication and speech, the Workshop of Communication with a Focus on Human Rights was held on April 12 with 15 independent journalists from Puerto de Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.
After a brief historical and conceptual summary of human rights, led by Sara Méndez, coordinator of CodigoDH, the group discussion deepened with the help of Giselle Melchor, journalist and host of CorTV. She spoke of practical tools to cover, disseminate, and generate content related to human rights in a precise, responsible, and ethical way on issues such as access to water, pride marches, and communities fighting for their territories, among others. They also carried out exercises about inclusive language, after explaining gender and diversity perspectives.
